OUR STORY

It all started when Jink and Eri finished their PADI scholarship called From Zero to Hero back in 2012.

Upon completion, they decided to build a dive center of their own in their hometown in Tulamben, Bali. Tulamben is heaven for macro hunters, complemented with the one and only USS Liberty Shipwreck, that has been lying only meters off the shore of one of the beaches since 1963.

I Nyoman Budiasa is what’s written on my birth certificate. However believe me when I tell you there are lots of Nyoman in Bali, so I go by Jink! I am a Tulamben local, and have lived here the moment I was born. That gives a reason already for you to come dive with me -as guaranteed I can take you to all the hidden places here. 2005 was the year I started diving, as well as the year I fell in love in the underwater world. Them I got a scholarship in Crystal Diver Sanur, Bali in a program called Zero to Hero, where our Cruise Director (our diving mama) Minni took us seven kids under her wings and trained us to be PADI instructors. I learnt a lot from her about diving and life in the industry, and for that, I am forever grateful. On 2017 Erik and I came together and decided to build our own empire in a form of a Dive Center called BEST. He’s one of the people that believed in my passion in Underwater Photography and even nicknamed me the BEST macro spotter & underwater photographer. I am now a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer with passion in Underwater Photography.

Hi! I’m I Gede Eri Sanjaya, but pretty much everyone calls me Erik. Born and raised in Tulamben right where all the good diving are, I began my own adventure when I was only 18 years old, right after I graduated senior high school. I started to dive professionally from 2004, but when PADI granted me a scholarship to learn about scuba diving properly, I jumped on the opportunity immediately. Even though I had years of experience already, I re-learnt the basic with my Course Director Minni, knowing well that understanding the theories better will make me a much better diver, and one day a good instructor for my students. Having to be the only two candidates from Tulamben, Jink and I immediately became best friends and we decided to open BEST, our own Dive Center early 2017. I am now a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer with great passion of teaching.
